VOLUNTEERING SENECI REMOVAL OF THE CAP in Pla de l'Orri, Headquarters of the Miranda Foundation in Berguedà
Horari i Lloc
Informació de l'activitat
We invite all the volunteers of the Foundation to a day to remove from the Pla de L'Orri the invasive South African plant Seneci del Cap. The Cape Seneci is a plant native to South Africa and was accidentally introduced through imported wool.
Its presence poses problems especially for livestock, as it is a toxic plant for livestock. Although they are not normally eaten, if they invade a meadow, the herds can no longer be fed and, therefore, the area is unusable.
In addition, volunteers who do not know the Finca Headquarters of the Project in Pla de l'Orri (PEIN Serra de Catllaràs, Alt Berguedà) will have a very good opportunity this day. The idea is that we arrive early in the morning and spend the whole day together until the afternoon. Everyone should bring their own picnic.
The Foundation invites chocolate cake! We will have to organize groups to go up all together on time at 9:30 am, from the village (Bar La Marieta) to the farm (half an hour of forest track, ok for 4x4 or cars a little high) sharing cars for sustainability and to avoid climbing with more vehicles than necessary, as we go to a Wildlife Reserve and Nature Reserve.
